I have one colleague at work who says there is not way the _______'s will win because if the _________'s lose a huge fight will ensue.

Personally I do not think Survivor Cook Island will be able to air all episodes. I think the network will have to cancel the series and not disclose the details about which tribe wins for fear of creating a social uproar across the country.

Words will be said which are racially motivated, if not among the cast then among the countless morning shows and talk show air-heads until someone makes that ONE REALLY OVER THE TOP COMMENT that gets national media attention and sets off race riots across our country.

Our country is on the verge of racially motivated riots anyway, so Survivor Cook Island will be the final push over the proverbial edge.

Note: For the unitiated, please examine footage of the WATTS riots in LA and various footage from the Mid-West [Chicago, Cleveland] and South [Birmingham, Atlanta, etc.] circa 1967.

I think it's the absolute WORST idea the media has come up with yet. I also have a real bad feeling about it. I hope they cancel that stupid show soon.

You are such a moron.

First off, you must not be a viewer of the show, or you would not have said, "....and not disclose the details about which tribe wins".

There is only one sole winner at the end, not an ethnic group.

Have you watched Survivor in the past? They split up the tribes by age (old vs. young) and gender (male vs. female). Are you suggesting that the AARP and Women's Rights organizations should have caused an uproar then? Why was THAT ok, but ethnic lines NOT ok?

If you watch ANY of these "Reality" shows, you will notice that ethnicity and culture is a MAJOR part of the shows. You can't watch any of the shows without hearing a black or Asian or Hispanic cast member talk about "Representing", and/or feeling like they don't fit in with the whiteys, blah blah.

Now we can see them work together in their own ehthnic comfort zones if you will, and then when the tribes merge into ONE tribe (they do that, you know), then it will be about the coming together of 4 groups that have a bond that is on a higher level than if they were randomly split up.

It is a fantastic premise, and a POSITIVE thing for cultural diversity.

You people are pathetic. Why do you insist upon dwelling on race? Guess what, there are different races which makes people different! Are you going to lie and say that you didn't notice the difference in the interactions of the races on the show? And who were the only ones's expressing any concern over the sensativity of the racial issue? The whites! Why? Because we all know, only whitey can be racist, so we have to be concerned that it may seem racist. But you probably didn't watch the show, maybe never have, and like you and people of your ilk, you are completely ignorant, yet you feel intellectually superior so that means that you always know what's right. Get a life and stop fueling the racial fire.
Riots, what a joke. You are more ignorant than you sound if you think that a night time reality show will cause riots. I'm sure that's exactly what you're hoping for. That way you can justify your irrational thoughts of exaggerated racism.

Reality shows are for people who want to escape from the responsibility of living a productive life... what happens on reality shows is irrelevant.

The people who care about reality shows are wasting their lives in much the same way an alcoholic or drug addict is.
