Hey! i myself have an APPLE laptop and my man, i tell you there is nothing better than a mac, when i had a windows, i left it on for 2 days, and it got a virus! on my mac, ive been seriously having it on for 2 months and nothing has happened, it operates normally, its fast as always reliable, and endless. A pc is the worst type of laptop, its bigger, uglier design, and doesnt come with cool and educational or gaming programms like the macs (apple). The ibook is discontinued, but they now replaced it with the intel based Macbook, omfg its awesome! you can run windows on it, use windows programms, it also comes with a BUILT-IN camera!!!!!! frontrow, and many more cool features! a pc u have to do lots of work setting it up, in a mac, all u do is take out the laptop turn it on and your done!!! im telling you , get a mac, you wont regret it!

go there!

OH AND U ALSO GET A FREE IPOD NANO FOR BUYING A MACBOOK LAPTOP!

I'm very, very happy with my PowerBook G4, which I bought 18 months ago. Never had a virus, and I don't have any special anti-virus software installed. The operating system is very elegant and stable. I use it mainly for surfing the net, iChating with my friends and family (video chat is great), writing docs for work (I have MS Office installed), and engineering (I have TurboCAD 3D installed). Nice little CAD program for what I do.

You pay more for an Apple up front, but the system is so trouble free and well built I feel the value is better than the PC I use at work.

Caveat: If you are going to run a computer as part of a network, where there is a sys admin to maintain your computer, including the firewall, then using a PC is fine. But if you are going naked on the net, get a Mac.

I would recommend an Apple computer. Not only do you get a very, very fast and powerful computer, you also get Apple's excellent Mac OS X operating system. And not to fret, all Apple machines can run Windows in addition to OS X, so no matter what kind of software you have, it will work. Make sure you visit Apple's Education Store to get the student discount if you qualify: http://store.apple.com/catalog/us/images...
I could go on for years about why I recommend Apple. A few main points: Apple's OS X has zero viruses, Apple is the highest rated company in consumer satisfaction, Apple has the lowest rate of repair of any computer company, Apple machines are the only computers that can run OS X and Windows. I've listed a few articles below to explain some of this to you and to prove that what I say is indeed true. Feel free to email me with any questions, I will be happy to explain: shearerspam@gmail.com

What are you going to use the laptop for? If it's for gaming then you want to get a PC laptop, elsewise you probably want to get a iBook. If you're programming then you might also want to use a PC because it allows you to do more things in the operating system than the Mac OS.

It depends on your interest and how you're going to use it.

Macs use PowerPC processors, which is a completely different architecture than Intel CPUs which use x86. Thus, PowerPC processors tend to do more work per clock cycle, allowing them to be clocked a few GHz slower and still be almost comparable to high-GHz x86 (Intel and AMD) processors. HOWEVER, the only processor that is available in a Mac laptop right now is the PowerPC G4. If you really want a comparison, it is probably comparable to a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 - WHICH is completely fine for just about everything except very high-end graphics and gaming. This is because the G4 is greatly hampered by its archaic and quite slow system bus running at 167MHz. If you really want to get a Mac laptop that is comparable in speed to Intel's latest and greatest, wait for the roumored G5 Mac laptops that are soon to come out.

for college, i might circulate with a working laptop or pc. Microsoft desktops tend to have much less issues than Macintosh desktops and you will get so plenty greater downloadable valuable properties which you should purchase like Microsoft notice and Photoshop. you ought to use those classes on a Macintosh too, yet they have a tendency to not paintings besides on a Mac than a Microsoft. So i might pretty propose a Microsoft. Plus, they're greater uncomplicated desktops and function been mastered a splash greater valuable. So in case you question me, in accordance with particular classes and so you might purchase classes, a Microsoft pc is your terrific wager.

Apple has rebuilt itself into a new image.

I wish I had one.

I want Apple's "garageband" to make podcasts, iTunes is on my PC but essentially an Apple product. People are developing new software all the time that works for Apple.

Their 'attitude' is right.
