There are many different ways to pop a wheelie on a bike, the best way is not by popping the clutch in a new, higher gear, but rather slipping it. The best thing about this method is it can be done in any gear. Heres how it works,
1.)The first thing you need to do is find a comfortable speed for starting to ride a wheelie.
2.)As you are driving the bike, pull the clutch in half-way, or at least enough so that the clutch slips (slipping the clutch refers to taking the clutch off just enough so that it still is powering the bike, yet if u where to throttle the engine up, the rpm's of the engine could raise with out the bike accelerating with it).
3.)Now with the clutch slipped, give the engine gas causing the rpms to go up (it takes practice finding out the best spot to bring the rpm up to for a wheelie).
4.)Now with the rpms up, release the clutch suddenly.
~~~~~~~~~~~This is the Scary Part~~~~~~~~~~
The Front wheel of the bike should come off the ground, for ur first time, it tends to happen fast.
When it reaches the desired height let off on the throttle to slow and then stop the wheel from rising at ur desired ride height.
~Hints~
--Steps 3 and 4 should be done very quickly, to get a sense of how fast they should be done email me @ frswimmer51790@yahoo.com, i have a link to a video i can send you, it has really good audio on the bike, and you can hear almost all of the steps happening and at the speed they shoud be going.
-- At the begging of the wheelie, it takes more power to get the wheel off teh ground, watch out however because as soon as weight starts shifting onto the rear tire, the front will get lighter, if you keep the same throttle position on the bike the whole time the wheel is lifting it will flip right over.
--MOST IMPORTANT WEAR ALL THE CLOTHES FOR PROTECTION,AT HIGH SPEEDS USE A FULL BODY SUIT AND GLOVES ECT. BELIEVE ME IT MAY LOOK DORKY BUT I WOULD RATHER BE DORKY THAN DEAD...PLUS NO ONE IS GUNNA BE LOOKIN AT UR SUIT IF UR POPPIN A WHEELIE,
Good Luck, email for the link if u need to see how fast the steps need to be done.
I think the best way for you to pop a wheelie is as close to an emergency room as possible
look, so i dont know how good you are or anything so im not gonna down on you for not having the "skills" but that doesnt really become a necessary skill until you get into some pretty serious woods riding on like, a dirt bike...its pretty dangerous to do on the street just for show, though, so i wouldnt recomend you try one unless you got some mad skillage instuction or have gotten really good in the past 6 months
You're the reason everyone's insurance rates go up! You're still a rookie at 6 months. Go to a school to learn to ride properly. Get some track time to learn control and build confidence.
I hope you have good insurance.
If you feel like you just have to do this, do it with some professional instruction and supervision, on a closed course, and on a bike especially designed for learning this maneuver.
They have classes for this. Go to Keith Code's California Superbike School. Look it up, or another one like it, but do it the right way, and not on the street.
