I am shocked when I hear some women foolishly say they aren't feminist. Obviously, they don't know what the word means and are slapping every womans face, including their own.

A feminist believes that a woman can do anything she chooses. She believes she should be treated equally in the workplace, at home and anywhere else on earth.

Finally, a feminist is not a man-hating, unfeminine, tobacco chewing female. Every feminist I know is well educated, intelligent, creative and productive in her workplace and in her personal life. Should she choose to have children, that is her choice to stay home or not. If she chooses not to have children, that is also her right and should be respected. Just because you are a woman doesn't mean you have to produce little ones to be fulfilled. Marriage doesn't fulfill you either. It's being true to yourself, respecting yourself and doing what you were put here to do not going along with what society deems you are worthy of doing.

Well said. A woman who isn't a feminist is a woman who is denying herself.

I definitely think I am a feminist in that I think women should get the same pay for the same job. I know I work as hard as a man at my job. I've seen many women who could out work a man , any given day of the week and yet get underpaid for it and I thought it was totally unfair.
I waited til I was 29 to get married and everyone seemed to treat me like I was going to be an old maid or something. Whatever! LOL I just didn't want to stop and settle down yet. I enjoyed being single and free to take off and go places whenever I wanted to, and I did too.
I can't have kids, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to. But, since I can't I just like being everyone else's kids' favorite aunt! Its cool, I can send them home when they bug me!
I have my own little company and I do my own thing. Now , I just include my husband in it. I still do my paintings and other art projects at all times of the night like I did when I was single, I still take off now and then with friends for the weekends and I happen to be the one in our marriage who owns ( and uses !) the power tools. ( Last week I remodelled our kitchen and my husband did the dishes and cooking around my work!! LOL ) .
I'm still teaching him how to do the laundry, and how to cook, but we're working on it. He doesn't mind me being somewhat of a feminist, just as long as I don't make him into toooo much of a girlie-man. :-)

Yes I believe i am a feminist. I can speak what is in my mind .. As a woman, i must have the respect of any man.. We are born equal and my rights must be respected. I am not a smoker nor do i drink wine to be called feminist. I am just true to myself. I love my man because i felt it and it is my choice

You do bring up a good point. I never thought of it this way. So, with that description, I would say I am a feminist.
