NO. At least with a degree, it shows that you've matured and cleaned up your life instead of not having one. Also, when they do that background check on you, they'll realize that you have realized that you have made a mistake and have been a model citizen (as in with no other criminal records to speak of) since then. Good luck.

It would be foolish to give up on an education because you are a convicted felon. It is all the more reason to continue with your education. Its to late to start punishing yourself for the mistakes of your past. There is a convicted murder named James Hamm who put himself through law school in AZ. He passed the bar exam and admittly the State Bar would not admit him but it is my understanding that convicted felons are allowed to practice law in California. Tim "Home Improvments" Allen is another convicted felon along with dozens of actors and entertainers. I to am a convicted felon and have done time in prison. I have never had my conviction turn me down for a job. It depends on what you choose for a career. Furthermore every state has differant guidlines concerning how long it is until you can have your civil rights restored. In Arizona at least, it is two years from the date you are completly of off parole or probation and all of your fines are paid. What this means is that you can vote, carry a firearm, and the state can not deny you licensing of anykind except perhaps law enforcement. Dont cop out now.... Represent!!!

nah, if that was the case why would they bother teaching college classes for credit actually in the prisons. for free even. stick with it. A felony, depending on what it is doens't preclude you.
depends on the field too though, and the nature of the crime.
too many factors to just push it off.

No you can get your record expunged and then it will be clean and getting a degree will help you do that. It is a legal processs. You have to be good for so long and then go in front of a judge and he decides if your record should be wiped clean. Good luck stay in school learn from your mistakes and don't look back.
