Listen to me!!!! Most of these people are wrong. All newer chevys have a timing chain. The only exception to this is certain 96 monte carlo and lumina models. The timing chain does not need to be replaced unless it happens to break. I have no idea why half these people think it has a belt.

It has a chain. GM part number is 24577247 and I sell it for 77.94 plus tax. If you're planning to change it you might want to get a new seal for the cover GM part number 14090026.

belt but you can go toautozone .com and they'll tell you and tell you how much it cost and how to replace it

a 2.2 has a timing belt.if it has a overhead cam.
