No numbers are retired by NASCAR. Not even the 3. There has never been a president to retire a number in NASCAR. There was a grass roots effort to retire the 3 after Earnhardt was killed, but NASCAR wouldn't allow it.
If NASCAR was to start retiring numbers they would have to start with the 43, and go from there.

There are no retired numbers in NASCAR. The 3 is not retired, but will probably never be used. I doubt that any driver's would ever want 3 on their car. Out of respect for Dale.

Nascar doesn't retire numbers. RCR still owns the #3 and has said it would only be used for another Earnhardt. Possibly a grandchild of Dale Sr.

there are no retired numbers in NASCAR Dale's is not because Childress holds the rights to that car. Also what is up with your question of Who killed Dale Earnhardt? No one would have purposely done that and it just happened he died because it was his time.
