Hi BabyN! Usually you start taking your temp the first day of your period! You should take it every morning before you get out of bed. Once you track your basal temp for a couple of months you should start to get a good idea on your ovulation schedule, make sure you also check you cm! I am also ttc, so hopefully this will work for you and also myself too! I just got the book taking charge of your fertility, so if I get any better ideas of ttc i'll let you know!

LOTS OF BABY DUST TO YOU!......................

Its best to temp everyday when you first start. Most fertility sites say to temp from day 1 of your cycle - www.fertilityfriend.com

Not everyone ovulates on the same day each cycle - I ovulate on or about cycle day 21 and I am 100% healthy

Have you read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler? You should read it if you havent....but you should start charting the first day of your period same time every day(morning) and make sure that you have 3 hours of continious sleep before charting...the longer you wait in the morning to take your temp the higher it will get...also when trying to concieve dont look at it day by day look at the shift of tempature for the whole month

begin using it on the 12th day of your cycle for 5 days...every morning before rising out of bed and don't move alot. movement will cause your temp to become elevated. for a wider range, you can also begin on the 7th day of your cycle. to about the 21st day. besure to document each temp after taking. ovulation is usually the 12 to the 15th day, and lasts about 3 days. also document the change in mucous. thin...thick...to thin...the last thin...is your time to be active. or...not be active. :-) good luck, ~~mafi...ps: if this isn't the answer you were looking for, please consult your family doctors RN.
