The Valley Girl phrases were big in the 80's, remember, Gag me with a spoon"? and we used to have nicknames for all different kinds of stores, and restaurants... Target was pronounced like it was french, tar-jay, and sallay armay was Salvation Army, and Jacques Penn-wah was JC Penney, and Gag - N - Puke was Steak -n- Shake, Mickey D's was Mc Donald's. Ricky & Lucy were used for anything either right or left... Like hang a Lucy at the next stop sign... People Stompers were those big hiking boots that had red shoestrings in them. Things that we liked were cool, bitchen, bad, cherry, rad, awesome, tripendicular, tubular, etc. Things that we didn't like were gay, or sucked, busted, jacked ... There was lots more, but it's hard to think of them out of context, and I'm not as young as I was in the eighties.....Good Luck, and if there was slang referring to something in particular that you wanted to know, write back....
