when i put on bare essentials powder make-up it looked like the powder sat in the lines on my face and made then more visible. does this mean i am using too much of the powder or is it because powder make-up isn't the right kind of make-up for my skin?

Also, you should make sure that you are using a top quality brush.

My sister once bought a bare minerals blush/all over color because it looked so good when they applied it at the store... but when she used it at home it didn't distribute well on her skin. She asked the associates about it and they reccommended a brush and the same product works 10 times better!!

If you don't have a good brush it won't buff well into your skin (also remember another bare motto: tap, tap... you don't want to much on the brush in the fist place). Also make sure that the brush is clean. You can use gentle shampoo to sanitize it.

If you have any questions still afterwards, go to a sephora or a bare minerals counter (even if you didn't buy it there) and they'll will give you advice. And remember, you can always return make-up... even if it's been used!!! You pay a high price for a high quality and if you don't think you're getting it, they can't refuse giving your money back!

good luck

ps- i love bare minerals (same as the escentuals)!!! And so do my sisters! but how you use/apply it does have an impact on the results.

Yes, you probley are. What you do is put the size of about a dime, of the foundation in the lid of the container it was in. Then use the brush to swirl the make-up, tap the excess off, the brush it on your face. Make sure to divide it equally all over the face. Remember less is more. You might also have the wrong skin tone foundation. They have it in all different shades, so check for that. When using their blush remember to apply very little, and for mineral vale you can add as much as you like all day.

Hope that helps! :)

It could be that you're using too much. Remember to buff it in, plus are you using a moisturizer before you put it on? I found that if I didn't let my moisturizer absorb into my skin I had issues.
You need less of the Bare Minerals than you think. Try using less and see what happens, and make sure you're buffing it in well. I find that if I don't buff enough it doesn't look right.
Next time try using less, and buff a few seconds longer, that may be all you need to get the look you want.
Good Luck!!

Bare Essentials is the best!
You are not using to much, you are probably just not blending it in good enough. Blend it very very good with the brush. Also, remember what I said in the other question and put a light moisturizer on a few minutes before hand. Like Oil of Olay moisturizer.

i think that you are using too much make up in this case. remember the Bare Minerals motto:less is more. try using less make up since a little bit goes a long way and covers most imperfections.

OMG! I had the same problem. Go back to the store your purchase and have them show you how to apply. Also, check with your local salon. They may also be able to show you how to apply. Each person is different. Now that I know how to use, I love it!

Good luck!
