Accourding to the national census, only about 3% are openly gay, but it's estimated that the real number is probably closer to 10%. About the same as the percentage of people thought to actually be dyslexic, have naturally curly hair, were thought to be left-handed in the 1950's and about the same percentage of persons with green eyes.

That question always annoys me because, it is accepted that between 10 & 12% in any society are gay. Where do the Bi s figure into this . It's pointless, people should just accept reality and not try and pigeon hole everyone. As Gore Videl put it,"Sex is neither right or wrong, it is."

I have heard somewhere between 6-10%. However, since I believe many men probably cant accept it in themselves or admit it to others, I believe the number to be significantly higher.

I think that 99% of men have at least some unacknowledged sexual attraction to men, but 25% of them are actually gay. Of all men in the U.S., only 10% will ever accept the fact that they are gay, due to the fact that many people never get in touch with their sexuality, due to repression and denial. I recommend that you see that movie, "Kinsey" with Liam Neeson.

In Europe it is about 10% --> 1of the 10 persons is gay :D

It was generally thought to have been 10%, however, I've heard as much as 1 in 6 have had gay experiences...(that admit it). Good Luck with your research...
