TM, have you ever seen it rain upwards ?
All over the world...North, South, East, and West, because of gravity, it rains downwards.

Using your theory, rain would only fall "down" on the north pole. Everywhere else rain would fall sideways or at a slant or "up". However, the earth is a sphere and, of course, has gravity. Up is the direction away from the center of the sphere. Down is the direction toward the center of the sphere, no matter where on the sphere you are.
