i have a long wood chest that i want to use as a coffee table but it completely smells of moth balls-how do i get rid of the smell without ruining the wood

Put some cedar chips in it.

Put some Potpouri chips in it for a few days & the smell should be gone or just leave it open 2 air it out & gently spray it with Febreeze in it.

i like to sniff something with Camphor in it. Moth balls are super. I additionally believe the guy who likes to sniff gas- and new vinyl. i'm a cleansing products freak and love new aromas. Lavender is super too.

Put it outside for a while to air out, then add something like potpourri to it when you bring it back in.

use murphys oil soap on it. i clean homes that have wood floors and wood walls and it takes bad scents out and cleans and replenishes wood.
