Sounds like a very depressing place. I love old cemetaries, where all of the markers and monuments are different. Some are old and decrepit, and some are astounding works of art. They all have character and are unique, like the individual souls they represent.

"Memorial parks" have little flush markers instead of tombstones. The lawnmowers can go right over the top of them.
It's supposed to be an open, free, lovely golf course for the dead, rather than a creepy, scary graveyard. It's been a growing "concept" ever since the 1920's.

I know. I don't even like the ones with stone markers that are all flat to the ground. How generic is that. Makes lawn mowing easier. That is a cheap cop out reason.
I want something real flashy. I giant marble monument with a marble statue of me posing proudly au natural'. Just like Micheal Anjelo's David only me.
When I die I want everyone to know my HUGE and phenominal secret.

One of my best friends was buried in one of these horrible impersonal places. (Second from the end third row) There are rows apon rows of identical plaques and signs up saying not to leave trinkets on the graves, as they could get stuck under the mower!! What a cold hearted place to lay someone down.

It is a shame that mowing takes precedence over a monument.
