If voting were mandatory in the USA we would have it worse off than we do now in terms of leadership as a lot of people do not know where the politicians stand on the issues. It is voting like voting blind when you vote like that and you stand a chance of electing someone more inferior than we have at the present. There are many positions that get voted on and it could affect the school system dramatically making it either fall behind the world in a way where we could not catch up or in making it so advanced that only the top students would graduate and have a chance for a good quality life. I feel people who do not know the issues and where the politicians stand should not even be allowed to take part in an election, as there are plenty of opportunities to gain knowledge of them.

I dont think so. Lets jsut say, for example, someone doesnt beleive in abortion. If everyone running is for abortion, they person is problly gonna choose not to vote so as not to support it.
