When you heat powdered copper metal over a bunsen burner, you see that a black substance forms. This black substance is called copper oxide. Which do u think would have more mass, the powdered copper or the black copper oxide? Explain your answer.

The copper oxide because oxygen has been added to for the compound to be made.

copper oxide because it is the residual of copper without oxygen. It has been condensed. just guessing.
