I'm talking specifically about those relating to September 11. It happened 5 years ago when the towers fell. Suddenly EVERYONE was flying a flag--off their front porch, off their car, flag bumper stickers, "Proud to be American" t-shirts, etc. It eventually died down. Why? If you're that proud, shouldn't you show it always? I noticed something similar here, as well. There were a barrage of 09/11 questions ON 09/11, but I haven't seen any since then. Why?

It is just like Pearl Harbor, Vietnam War, Gulf War, etc. the list could go on and on. People do not really think about things that long. Whatever grabs their attention is what they stick with for the ride. Then once the ride is over they move on to another ride. I believe that most of those people flying those flags were just jumping on the band wagon. I am not saying they aren't patriotic though.

No other society has as short an attention span as Americans!

The whole sad mess is politics. I think it could've been stopped in the first place.
