Is it just a term given to a crush by people because they don't wanna feel guilty about being lusty? A term people's brains came out with because nature wants to trick us into reproducing?

Looking at the divorce rates and the sexual practices of humanity; I think it is safe to say that true love is highly overrated.

Even the Hollywood/Joseph Campbell hype that romantic love is the next giant step in human consciousness is simply based on the fact that sex sells and always has.

The big true love question is never weighed against your question of reproduction seduction or Buddhist desire and Christian sin.

Doesn't pay to get to serious. It could hurt the box office.

There are a lot of open ends in your questions.
Does the idea of true love exist to cover guilt?
Does the urge to reproduce produce guilt?
Is lust and and the reproductive urge one in the same thing? What is a crush?

Hey, good question. Tune in next week, when Jessica says to Bill........? (How about those apples?)

That cannot be right as reproduction is not limited to humans and love or true love is a concept only found in humans. In fact the concept of love or love itself is responsible for the development of the human race. It is love that resulted in the formation of the institution of family which developed into tribal, urban and state as institutions of collective living. This collective living is the basic cause of all human progress to date. It is this concept that one day, sometimes in the future, bind all mankind in one single relationship.
The other debate is about the fact that each individual lives to an extend a life and has feelings and has thoughts that no other human being can strictly claim to know or be fully and completely be aware of.That people fall in love is perhaps not a moot point but people do not remain in love for all times to come, that I think happens very very rarely, people change and grow and become different and what and who at one time is very attractive may not remain so in times to come.

Yes, true love does exist. Its just something that we all have to wait for and if its meant for us, then it will happen. There will always be those who say that they are truly in love, but really are not and in most cases the truth comes out with time. Many people think that true love doesn't exist because they have been hurt before, but they shouldn't ruin it for everyone else by saying that it doesn't exist.

YES!!! And by said Yes I mean yes true love exists. This may not be your bag but I gotta say that the bible says God is Love. and I feel the same way about God as I do about true love. In any case, I dont think love is a feeling, I think its mostly a choice to make someone important to you...I think a lot of hard work goes into true love...

I think true love exists between a parent and child but that is about it. True love in the sense of man/woman or who ever you are in love with is just a myth and about as easy to find or prove as Big Foot.

TRUE needs a definition and a difficult one. True love is love based on sincere reciprocation from both parties and is good. But how to judge, live, use, and many other things will affect it and that is critical to the definition. Find the definition first and you will not need to ask anybody.

yes

no, if you're young and you want to tell someone you love them to get your way with them, that's your deal. but that doesn't mean that the girl you are giving that message to doesn't believe it. I'm sure she does and WANTS to believe that there IS such a thing as true love.

I advise you to NOT reproduce if you feel this strongly against it. your kids will probably be a nuisance to society. unless you know how to love them unconditionally.

Yes, true love exists.
It's an intoxicating experience (partly sexual) when you fall in love with their laugh, their quirks, their sense of humor, their crooked smile, etc.
You feel an indescribable pain of separation (breakup, death, etc.) in your stomach, heart, head. Hence, "If you love me, let me go." It'd be the GREATEST sacrifice to love like that.
Love requires intelligence, and is not directed by nature like sexual reproduction is. Humans love best, but most animals do not "love". In nature, success is defined by reproducing one's genetic material; love is not required.
Marriage does not require "true" love. Often it's just love. I hope for TRUE love myself.
