There is a mouse poison called "One bite". you can get it at a feed store. It is about 5 dollars. It has a substance in it that keeps the dead mouse from smelling if it dies in the attic, walls,or crawl space. Look for places where mice can get in the house. Seal them with a expanding foam that can be bought at Lowe's. Of course there are mouse traps that just catch the mice and you can put them back into the wild. Just make sure you look for every little area where they can get in. A mouse can squeeze through the most tiny areas.

First, you need to make sure they do not have access to any food. No pet food, no crumbs, no nothing.'
Next, you need to make sure they can't get in and out of the house. Try to find out how they get in and block the holes. Look at the openings where pipes and cables and wires come into the house and along the foundation and around windows and doors, and openings from the outside into the attic.
Third, you will need to kill the mice in the house. They won't move out on their own, and they can't once you block their way out. You need traps and Decon (poison). You need to make sure that children and pets can't get to the traps or poison. Or you can try a cat.
Or you can call an exterminator and he can do it all for you.
Good luck.

Before I had 5 cats I got some jar lids and mixed corn meal sugar and boric acid together. They would take it back to the nest and it does kill the mice. The snap bang (traditional mouse trap) trap is probly more human. It kills them instantly. put some peanut butter on the trap it works everytime. I don't like to hurt them but they are carriers of deseases you don't want.

I work for a pest control company and unfortunetly there is no way of getting rid of them without hurting them. If they are in your house then you need to get them out. They eat the insulation and other building materials in your walls and can cause alot of damage. We use bait and it works very well but he mice die and if they die in your walls it will smell. I would use glue board. It wont be pretty but you will get rid of the problem and not have a bad oder in your house

First off find their way in and put steel wool into the opening and then seal it, they cannot chew throught steel wool. I use the metal and wood kill traps since they kill fast! But since you don't want to kill them get a live trap and bait it with peanut butter or cheez wiz, then relase them in a field far from your house! Once you have all the entances sealed off and all the ones in your house gone that should be it!

Traps are the ONLY way....they kill rather quickly...poisons may cause them to die in the walls or crawlspace...NOT good. Cats can be good, too, but they are knda messy with their type of control.
If you can afford it, call in a service to take care of the infestation for you.
