If you are trying to make babies right now the looser the better. You don't want to trap heat in. In the long run it won't affect your sperm. You as a man produce new fresh sperm for fertility uses daily. Woman have to worry because they have all the eggs ther're ever gonna have, you keep producing

Boxers actually increase fertility and are often recommended as a "first" step for couples having difficulty with conception.

Just the opposite. Wearing "Jockey" type underwear causes
fertility problems. Wearing boxers, or being a "swinger", is better
for sperm production.
