By far it has to be the Beatles. When they hit American soil, it changed the face of music forever and Rock and Roll was really rocking and rolling after that. I am old enough that I saw the Ed Sullivan Show when the Beatles first appeared, it was really something. Even though I was 7, I remember watching and realizing I was seeing something pretty neat.

New Orleans Dixieland Jazz, especially in the 1920's when network coast-to-coast radio came out.
Specifically, Louis Armstrong and his Hot 5 and Hot 7 groups. They changed everything about music worldwide.

The Beatles... They've been the most influential band for every genre and artist for every generation.. From Ozzy Osbourne to Michael Jackson.. Tool's drummer also said that Ringo Starr is also one of his influences... rock on! \m/ Truly, All we need is love!!!
