If you have a c-section you will normally stay in the hospital at least 2 days and possibly 3 if everything goes well. However, there are lots of variables that determine your length of stay. Such as the weight and health of the baby and the general condition of the mother. If all goes well you will be home in 3 days.

I had a vaginal birth, and I stayed there for 2 nights, three days. Usually, c- sections are the same, but be sure to make no sudden moves and definitely try not to stress yourself during this time. You need time to heal- so just take it easy. My baby has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, so she didn't come home until 10 days after her surgery, 13 days after birth. Congrats on the new addition to the family, and good luck!

With a C-section you are there longer---3 or 4 days as opposed to 1-2 days for a vaginal birth w/ no complications.

your baby will come home when mom comes home unless the baby is having a problem. Some c section babies have a lung issue because they did not come thru the birth canal and the birth canal helps squeeze out that fluid and gunk in their mouth. It's usually not a issue to cause them to stay longer. The mom is the one who needs to stay longer then she would have with a vaginal delivery it is still usually only 3 or 4 days,

I think it varies by state, too. I had a c-section on a Wednesday at noon and went home late Saturday afternoon (but insurance would have covered one more day and this with no complications). My sister in law just had a baby (natural and it was a water birth at a hospital in another state) at 4:00am and she was home that night!! I was tripping on that!

I had natural births with both my kids and I was released 48 hours after they were born. I believe c section is around 3 days.

i had a c-section with all 3 of my children, and yes you do stay in the hospital longer with a c-section then with a vaginal birth (barring no complications with either of them). with my fisrt 2 i was in there for about 4 days, and with my last one 6. i was in there longer with my last one because i ended up with an infection on my uterus and had to get iv antibiotics. i personally enjoyed the extra time in the hospital, it gave me extra time to get to ask the nurses questions, and to get in the habit of having a newborn. if you can i would suggest staying as long as your insurance will let you, you will appreciate that extra attention for just you and your baby.

I had a c-section, I was out 2 1/2 days. (wish it was longer) A natural birth is normally 24-48hrs.

For a natural birth, with no complications, you can usually go home the next day. For a c-section, it's a few days.

depends mainly on your insurance and your doctor/s. I had a c-section and was in 4 days. Doctor gave me a choice for the 4th daY --but also suggested I stay the extra night so I could get needed sleep, and only have to nurse instead of do everything. I was lucky our insurance covered this, because she was right.
