Start by doing 3 sets. Most exercises work better when done in sets of 3's.
Then when that's easy, add weight 5 pounds at a time. Wait until each amount gets easy before adding more. You don't want to go from 5 to 20 pounds in one week. It won't do your body any good; you may strain/pull/tear something and not know it until too late.
Good Luck!

Great job!
To modify the intensity, you can perform the exercise with heavier weights (try 12 or 15#) , or for extra challenge and to work on balance... try it with a long barbell across your shoulders.
If you have adequate space, perform walking lunges, crossing the length of your room while lunging with each step.
Another alternatives is lunging side to side instead of forward.
Keep it up!!

Either increase your weight to 15lb-20lb in each hand or increase your reps to 3-4 sets of 20 lunges. HTH : )
