click on "start" then "search" then "all files and folders" then in the box "all or part of a file name" type *.* then click "search" you'll get all the files on yourcomputer.

Is the issue that the hidden files are not displaying?

Then click on My Computer
Click on Tools
Select Fold Options
Go to the View tab
Look for "Hidden Files and Folders"
Check were it says "Show hidden files and folders"
Now if you do a search you will see all the files

I'm not sure if you're asking about word documents, excel documents or other docs that you need to find. My best suggestions is to go to start--> search--> and then put your criteria in the search space. This will bring up all the documents that you specifiy. Just need a little more information than you gave.

What kind of files you might have on your computer? MS Office files? They have extensions as xls, doc, ppt, pps, etc.. Pictures have jpg, bmp, gif, etc...
