Win98 doesnt have a system restore. You will need the original system restore disc or windows 98 installation cd.

-Hold down the CTRL key as you restart your computer.
-On the Startup menu, select Safe mode command prompt only.
-At the prompt type cd\windows\command
-hit Enter
-At the C: prompt type scanreg /restore
-press ENTER.
>>>(there is a space between scanreg & /)
-When you are prompted, select Previous Day's Registry and hit enter
-keep selecting a date until it says "Started"

window 98 does not come with a rollback feature like xp. the only rollback is to run a recovery from original software. basically putting it back to its original state when it came out of the box. i've had to do it several times with my old 98 machine that i gave to the kids.
