Well, I had posted a few days ago that I was having my first interview, and that it was at Chick-Fil-A. Well the guy seemed like he liked me at etc.

He told me something about he would contact and let me know if I had got the job, since he had to talk to the franchise owner. Well, he interviewed me actually only this Thursday. Well I swore that he told me he would contact before the weekend, but I could have been wrong.

However, I was curious if like I should follow up and thank them for the interview or what, you know to get my name back in their mind... I, well I don't know... what do you think. I just would have thought they would have contacted me Today, because of the fact they are closed Sunday, and its a mall franchise so Saturday's their busy day

So I don't what do you think. When should I contact them, or should I at all?

Yeah, my only reason I just wasn't sure was the fact that I am not sure if they are giving me the job. Just because the fact he had only one day to get back to me so far, it could be very well the manager got busy and hasn't been able to concentrate. I just didn't wanna seem too... annoying in some manner, or pushy.

Call... the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you don't get the job here, that manager may remember you and recommend you to a colleague. Call early Saturday morning. Or better yet - go in and ask in person.

You want that job - write a letter (typed, of course), thanking the interviewer for the interview, and expressing your interest in starting quickly, because you are impressed with the franchise. Be honest and sincerely, no bull. Mail it to the franchise to his attention - I guarantee he'll call you when he gets that letter, because you will have been the ONLY person doing that and you will stand out.

Understand that, as hiring managers, we might think we can get to it, but then something comes up, and we don't realize the delay - think of the same thing depending on which side of the bathroom door you're on!

I am the Human Resources manager for a 1000+ person company. I interview a lot of people and often it takes weeks after an interview before I make an offer. Often I hope to make an offer sooner, but something comes up that delays the decision. Don't lose hope. You won't lost points by following up. Drop them a nice thank you card for the interview. Express your interest in the position and restate your availability.

Absolutely, you should contact them. Don't be accusatory about their not calling you. If you are genuinely interested in the job, let them know that.

Good Luck
