Because DSL is used over a telephone line and because it's a different signal than your telephone service. Your local phone company would have to set it up and therefore charge you.
No other way to get free DSL unless you knew people who work at the phone company who could set it up. And that would have to take quite a few people to be involve in this little scheme.

Most prisons have internet access, some highspeed. You might not get that much time on the web, but probably enough to ask stupid questions. :)

Yes, if you want to move to Saint Cloud, Florida. About six months ago they started offering a city-wide free high speed internet connection called cyberspot.

No, your phone company has to provide the DSL signal. Most likely your phone company will charge you for this.

You could get a wireless laptop and go to Starbucks or somewhere where it is free to use their signal. Hope you like lots of coffee.

okay.. if you have an extra cable cord hook that up to your modem.. and there you go... you have internet.. a friend of mine did that to their internet.. or you can even get a router thingy.. so that your cable and internet can be hooked up at the same time.

yes get wireless laptop or card for your pc, move to some place where is lots of hauses around you and many people have open wireless internet :) well you will steal their connection so it is up to you
