If so, which is your favourite?

Mine is a 'people's edition' of 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' by Lewis Caroll - 1896.

It's not the most valuable in my collection, or the oldest but it is the book that started me collecting and has beautiful illustrations. One of the oldest is a 'Chaucer for Children' - 1875.

Correction: I meant to write that the 'Chaucer for Children' is one of the most valuable - it has colour block illustrations. I have others that are quite a bit older.

My most favorite old book that I own is by Edgar Rice Borroughs. It's the first printing (1928) of Master Minds of Mars. It's illustrated and the pages are brown and brittle. Second to the Borroghs book, is the first printing (1952) of Frances Parkinson Keyes' work called Steamboat Gothic. I also own first printings of some of Asimov's work. I just love books. I have them everywhere. Can't get enough of them.

I collect old editions of stories I remember from childhood. I like to find the exact edition that I had for stories like Heidi or Robin Hood.
Sometimes I pick up a classic book with lovely stamping, gold edging and marbled end papers. I just love the look and feel of the old book.

My favorite is also the one that got me interested with old books. It is Grosset & Dunlap 1907 version of 'When Knighthood was in Flower'. It is the love story of Charles Brandon and Mary Tudor Henry VIII's sister.
My other favorite is old Dashiell Hammett books.
