I got my belly button pierced about 3 months ago. since then, about every day it oozes something that literally looks like mucus. And for about a week, when I move it, redish ooze comes out. But when I try to clean it, it wont come out. I think its from inside the piercing, like fesh or something. Please let me know, cuz if its infected, my family will hate me cuz they dont know I have it!!

If you are using proper aftercare and it is a small infection it should clear up on it's own however if you have had the infection for several months you should go see your piercer and have them look at it. However it may not be an infection at all so you should go see your piercer anyway to determine if it even is an infection.
NO Rubbing Alcohol (it is way too harsh for piercings)
NO Peroxide (again too harsh)
NO Neosporin (it causes piercings to reject)
With clean hands wash it twice daily with unsceneted, antibacterial, liquid soap (like Dial).
Also non-iodized sea salt soaks 1/4 tspn salt to 8 oz warm water 10 minutes, once a day.
And stop touching it with unclean hands, that is the leading cause of infection!

Is the area around the piercing reddish in color? If so, that is a common sign of infection. The fact that it is oozing something isn't a good sign, either.

I doubt that is contaminated that is probable merely your physique doing the therapeutic technique. additionally not at all use hydro peroxide or alcohol those are not meant for puncture wounds. not at all touch it except your cleansing it,and make sure your palms are sparkling. loose pants, and shirts are the greater valuable issues to positioned on whilst your therapeutic. additionally try a twig stated as H2Ocean that's a sea salt spray that's great with retaining the piercing sparkling/help sparkling up any infections.

definately an infection, and three months is a long time! you should see a dr right away, that kind of infection can spread and thats all you need! you may have an allergy to the metal from your ring. im sure your family would rather you take care of your health than hide a silly secret, this may be the best time to break the news!

NEVER NEVER NEVER use rubbing alcohol on a piercing...it will dry it out & make the skin around the piercing crack. i cleaned mine 3 times a day for 6 months with salt water (regular table salt & tap water) moving the ring around while i cleaned it. i put tea tree oil on it to help heal as well as took vitamin C and zinc as per my piercers instructions. if it gets worse go see your piercer or a doctor

It sounds like its infected. You should be cleaning it everyday regularly. Use a cleaner called Bactine in the spray version. Ive used that ever since I got mine and I havent had one problem with it. Bactine also helps loosen it if you wanna take it out.

This happened to me all the time until it fully heals. All you have to do is go to the store buy a 99 cent bottle of rubbing alcohal and clean it three times a day. Don't pull and touch the ring at all and it'll be ok.

Usually if its infected it will be really red and swollen. I had mine done and it did the same thing but I made sure to move mine everyday other wise it will grow closed around the stud. I wouldn't worry until it gets really tender or swollen. Good luck :)

If it's oozing red goo, it's blood. My ears do that. It's got an infection, and you need to put Hydrogen Poroxide on it ASAP.
