some places they do eat different animals than us such as dogs, cats or horses.

why is this any different than us eating cows, or chickens or fish?
is it because they are cuter than the ones we eat? for god sake arent cows sacred in india? and we eat them.

some cultures are different than ours. and even in those cultures these things are being changed, but some people stick with them.

Yes it is true that in some countries they eat meat from other sources than beef, pork, lamb, poultry, etc. like we do here in the USA. It is a cultural thing--and while we may find it disgusting, who are we to determine what is right or wrong? In India, they have starving children, and cattle are allowed to roam freely-their religion teaches them that the cattle harbor the souls of their dead ancestors--and maybe they do. There are vegans all over the world that believe that eating any animal products (meaning even eggs, milk, butter, cheese, etc.) is not only wrong but truly unhealthy. Of course, I've never seen a dedicated vegan that looked very healthy ! It's pretty common here in the midwest for people to eat squirrel, rabbit, and frogs. Squirrels are rodents (just like rats). And bunnies are cute, so are baby chicks, ducks and so on. Grill me a good beef steak (rib-eye) and make it medium rare-and let the rest of the world eat what they wish-why do you care what they're eating?

But why would you want to eat something that looks up to you.
Like a dog would save your life? A cat or dog keep you warm at night? Something to play with, companionship, keep you guarded. Keep you exercised? Cats are so elegant, why eat it

Yes, actually some americans do too. I've eaten Mt. lion before, and thats a cat.

Really its just how you were raised, Most Americans were raised thinking they were pets, and people in other countrys raise them for food.

I bet people in other countrys would be shocked to hear that we eat some stuff such as dandilions, or rose hips, but you find the all over in the stores...

I know its sad for the cute, cuddly animals, but its the same as us raising chickens

It's true. In China where the poverty level is something you can't even comprehend. It is a fact they eat cats. Don't know about the dogs, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes, I'm sorry to say, in China, Vietnam and and Korea...I've not heard so in Japan. Give your pets some extra love to make up for what we cannot control!

my dad was in the military and one time he brought me a puppy that him and his friends took from some people that were going to eat him in okinawa(i misspelled it). I think people do eat cats or dogs when there is nothing else or they have no means of getting something else. I dont believe that they are a popular thing to eat though.It like its a last resort.

Yes... I don't see what the point would be. There is such little meat on them. I like deer and moose meat, but I would never eat cat meat. I once had a dream where I ate a fox and it tasted good, but in all reality what would be the point with such little meat.

In all countries, where people are starving, they will eat anything to survive. During WWII, people ate rats to survive. I've eaten snake, bear, deer, but no dogs or cats. I'm not that hungry yet.
