you can register for a free domain many places, but most arent exactly free, they will charge you for hosting services to get the domain for free. you can purchase a domain and have it hosted just about anywhere, but also have to pay for hosting services. do a search for free domains and you will find many options

Good day!
I own a company that provides domain name services, and many many webhosting options..

"Free" domain names aren't really free. They always come with a catch. Either it will be something like mywebsite.moneymaker.com or it will be owned by the company registering it, so they can do anything they want with it. In the above example, moneymaker.com is basically advertised every time someone visits your site, and it doesn't look very professional if you're looking to do anything other than a very basic hobby site.

If you are looking to purchase a normal domain name (and not use a sub-domain like the example above) there are many places you can register one for less than $5 or so a year.

If you have any other questions about this, feel free to drop me an email at mike_n@turbulentmedia.com

Take care..
