I'd jump at the chance to see how the other half lives, even for a year. The biggest change I think I'd see is how people talk and relate to me. Treating the opposite sex different is common, and a good thing. If I become female enough, maybe how I relate to others. If I could realize the differences, this would be a world changing thing.
Some talked about going through a cycle. If my wife and I switched places for me to become a woman, and her a man, I'd prefer to get pregnant and experience child birth. Though we'd both then have a lot of explaining to do to our family, friends, and kids :-) The making love process would also be of interest, how things are different an how things feel.
Advantages, (or disadvantage) I could buy or at least try on all those clothes I think should look good on my wife (and she says No!) or other women. Then see if I'm nuts or they really would look good.
Disadvantages, if I changed jobs, I wouldn't get paid as much.
Would I want to wear makeup every day? I'd try it, maybe a little on some days.
Would I want to have a large selection of clothes? At least more window shopping, and trying on things.
Hanging out with the 'girls' might be interesting, hearing what kinds of things they talk about. (I've been very shocked when I wasn't known to be around while women have been talking).
Probably about a dozen other things, but that's enough for now.

Yeah like the person above me said, Let's see if men survive having a cycle. For every 28 days, and see if they can survive the cramps and bloating. Or lets see how some react on pregnancy.

I would get all the sex I didn't get as a man.
The cramps is a small price to pay to be able
to move men, mountains and countries with
such a small piece of physical real estate.
