Mexican police said that the three men subdued Luster outside a
nightclub, put him in an SUV and drove off June 18, 2003. Police stopped
the vehicles soon afterward and took the men into custody.

Chapman and his crew were not authorized to track Luster and take him
into custody in Mexico, Mexican officials said at the time, adding that
bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico.

Judge Jose de Jesus Pineda ordered the three men to stand trial on
charges of unlawful detention and deprivation of freedom, charges which
carry sentences of up to four years in prison.

Pineda granted the men bail -- $1,500 each -- but the three were
supposed to check in regularly with police and get Pineda's permission
before traveling outside the Mexican state of Jalisco.

That's probably only reason. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. Kind a sad people getting kinapped left and right over at Mexico and dude gets jailed for tracking down a fugetive.

You pretty much have the facts. However, one interesting fact I heard for the first time today, is that The American Association of Bondsmen are the ones who have been pushing for these arrests to happen all along. Not the Mexican government. This is because they knew this was not legal at the time of Luster's capture, and that Dog going down there was a huge mistake. It was stated that this embarrassed them as a group and felt that it gave them all a bad name. Now don't get mad at me, I'm just giving ya all an update!

Dog and his posse are mercenaries in it for the money. There was a signifigant bounty on Luster. They knowingly broke Mexican law for money, they now have to pay the consequences. As would any drug dealer.

well since they didn't give luster back to mexican officials they're being charged with kidnapping which could be a sentence of 8 yrs. they didn't show up for their court date so now mexican officials want them extradited back. that sucks, mexico should've extradited luster to the u.s. but when they want someone returned we do it, but when we want someone returned they don't instead they arrest the man responsible for returning the sick man. don't get me wrong i am mexican but i'm just saying it's not fair i love dog, tim and leland.
