You can't negotiate with a group like the Taliban whose starting point is the death of those who won't convert to their religion. If someone says to you convert or die, do you really think there are magic words to make them stop and leave you alone?
There has never been a negotiated peace in the history of mankind. Peace is achieved by victory. We do practice live and let live, but we should whoop azz anyone who messes with us.
Beware those who argue with emotion and a complete lack of intellect.

enable's not overlook the weddings bombed in outposts like Nangarhar in 2007. Now, i do not declare to be a defense force strategist, yet even i will see that bombing a wedding ceremony (were the Taliban getting pissed up on the reception?) and killing 40 5 human beings inclusive of 39 females & children, received't endear you to impartial locals. it really is an idisputable undeniable reality that the u . s . has an appalling record even as it contains civilian casualties, in Iraq & Afghanistan, and also for the era of its previous defense force campaigns-or were the 600,000 civilians killed in Cambodia between 1969-1973 as a effect of the USAF's extraordinarily unlawful bombing marketing campaign deemed to be defense force aims too?

The answer is probably both, the Taliban in general are a bunch of uneducated misogynistic thugs who want the world to be run on 14th century rules.
But hearts and minds is seriously needed in Iraq and Afghanistan - the raghead attitude has, and will if it continues, open up an already festering wound into something that destroys life.
Those who do not fear death are serious combatants to face, but the world they want, where men rule, women are second class citizens is truly medieval.
Seek to understand, show compassion and your true self, and if they still keep coming and want to take what you have then there is only one true choce, fight for what you believe

Have you noticed that since we so called joined Europe, they have made all our laws told us what we can and can't do, how to bring up our children, that we must buy their products, but they wont buy ours.
Well its the same with NATO AND THE UN, They love working out problems for other countries, Well send in !!!!! number of troops, But look at the cowards now none will send their precious little Soldiers there in case they get hurt. Who we ask ourselves well 2 countries with the most mouth. Germany and the Yellow Tail French. " who may I say we and the rest of the world Have pulled out of the S!!!! More than once.

eh, Taliban isn't so much the problem anymore, it's the rest of the radical Middle East. You will never be able to eradicate terrorism without killing pretty much half the innocent population also. anyways, to answer the question, I'd say bombs. you really think they'd listen to us being friendly?

OK so we use bigger bombs!Where do we send them???
Guess that only leaves developing our 'hearts and minds' war and we should start by treating people as human beings not oil producers.

When the Taliban threaten to take-over England, then they should be dealt-with, all the time they are in their own country, it's really fuc*k-all to do with us.
It's about time we told America that if they want to hurtle round the globe imposing their version of democracy on different countries, not to expect Britain to tag-along like a load of fu*cking twats like we have done so far.

Perhaps the question is "what right do we think we have got to go romping all over the world trying to make every other country look more like ours?".
or perhaps "Who elected us into the role of international Police?"
We need to be very careful because the line between "do the right thing" and "force everyone to your will because you can" is a fine one, even if you think your will is in everyone else's best interest.

"Robin" thinks that we should have left Afghanistan and the Taliban to train more terrorists in their camps, so that they can commit more 9/11's. nice one, good solution.
