Just apoligize to him and say it was alittle uncomfortable but u liked him saying that. Say that u just got a littl shy. Just be honest with him, then he'll feel special like you are honest with him.

You are just over whelmed by his attention try to get to know one another in a group setting double date or go out with a group of friends just to keep a balance of closeness and a familiar conversation it takes a little time for some people to open up to strangers and as much as you like the guy that's still what you are strangers Only you can say if the 2 weeks is enough for you to be considered as a couple some people see a person for years and are as close as any B/F and G/F but never actually commit to each other so that is a thing for you both to decide .
A HINT... look at what hes into like music or bikes perhaps cars or the beach and make small talk with his interests if you strike his passion he will go all out and share it I love boats and my lady knew nothing about them when we met now she is as educated in boating as any of my friends < get the drift .

Just be yourself. if he doesnt love you for who you are, hes just playing games. when he tells you he loves you, tell him you love him more. Hes giving it some effort, now its your turn. show him who you really are. sure its ok to go out with him, just dont be tooo trusting. if hes really a good guy then thats ok, but dont go in any dark alleys where youre really alone with him. thats how good people get hurt. Dont be scared just cuz i said that tho. He sounds really great, its just that happened to my sister but he was kinda shady in the first place. Anyways, just BE YOURSELF and say whatever comes to your mind. If you start getting nervous, take a deep breath and calm down.
