I lost my main case for my star craft game that has the install code on it; for it has been a long time since I needed it. But I had to turn my machine in for service... and it is no longer on my HD.

So am I out of gas as far as reinstalling this thing is concerned? or is their a way it could be retrieved?

As far as I know, no, there isn't any way to get the CD key back. Although you could try looking at Blizzard's technical support site, there might just be something there on the subject.

Also, next time, be sure to write your CD key down when you get the game.

Honestly, when you can get the game, the expansion (Brood War) and the players guilds, not really needed, for $19.99 at most stores that carry it, it would probably be money well spent and less of a hassle to just get a new copy

dude, i loved that game. but its not used that much anymore. in fact, the reason i quit playing online was because of the appearance of pornagraphic materials while playing online, which rapidly were increasing in number. so i'd buy a newer game, which is bound to have cleaner UMS games and such. however, i really like the bnet format.
