Siouxsie Sioux as Goth Queen?
not that the emo retards will know who I'm talking about...
one of their kind recently asked me "Who is Bela Lugosi"?
I INFORMED them as to Mr. Lugosi's identity....Dracula and various roles he'd portrayed. I then asked them if they'd heard the song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus.....their reply...."Who's Bauhaus"? ughhhhhhh........I had to walk away....

Please folks respect your elders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bands of the past 10 years need not apply

Kaferman5 listen to In The Holy Hour by The Cure or..Strange Day, Drowning Man.
Anything from Faith, 17 Seconds or Pornography.
Those tunes alone should make you a believer.

Defintely the Cure...Siouxisie as Goth Queen??? She slagged off off The Damned for not being "punk" enough but sold out shortly after..... Bauhaus...well...next question...good stuff but not in league with The Cure

Definetly The Sisters of Mercy. No contest. They had the look, the clothes, the music, the lyrics. Oh and some hugely influential singer Andrew Eldritch. He has previous form with The Sisterhood and had a hand in another mighty goth outfit The Mission - that featured his guitarists Adams and Hussey.

Funny, I've never even considered the Cure to be goth. Sure, RS may be pale and wear make-up but I've never heard anything from them that I would classify as goth.

Funny story. When I first heard them c. 1988 I was like "What is this crap?" They have since become one of my favorite bands.

Bauhaus has got that one, no doubt about it.

It is so refreshing to hear from someone who likes Goth music and not "goth" music like Marilyn Manson. These days it's asking a lot just to find someone who calls themself a goth and has actually heard of Bauhaus.

"Double Dare" still gets me going, personally.

OMG memories, misty water colored memmmmmorrries...Of the way it REALLY WAS not these pale imitators!
Siouxsie and the Banshees....The Cure....The Cult... I 'member when Billy Idol was the opener for the CULT! these bitches were standing on their seats with a stinkin' banner (for billy, he had really tight pants then) and I was pissed it was in my way so I borrowed a stoner's lighter and set the freakin' banner on fire.
Ya know what the best 'venge on these emo freaks is? When you see them all duded up in their finery, you walk up to them and whisper "I was punk back when I was your age...cool
threads, man" and they will FREAK OUT!!!
And my man Bela, he was the Main Squeeze! "I don't drink....wine"
WAIT! I FORGOT ABOUT MINISTRY! MINISTRY! MINNNNISTRRRRY!
