The first thing that comes to mind is to cut them in half and stitch the broad ends together to make a Christmas tree skirt. You could open the leftovers and cut them in strips to sew together and make a piece of fabric to cover a book, journal or notebook. Using the fabric from the entire tie, cut in strips long enough to weave into pillow tops for square throw pillows on your bed or make a tote bag with the woven fabric. If you weave strips together, iron on a backing of fusible interfacing to prevent separation of the strips.

By far the best thing I have ever seen done with old neckties was making them into a beanbag seat cover. Turn the ties inside out to make sure you unpick the seam cleanly. Discard the interfacing. Arrange ties into huge circle. Re sew them. Make inner bag to same dimension out of old sheeting / canvas / drill / twill / heavy callico etc. Fill with polystyrene beads. Lie back and enjoy the compliments.

A gazillion years ago, we used to make "A" line skirts out of them . Open up the ties and stitch them together and use them as you would for fabric to make a funky pocketbook. Wouldn't they make a great Christmas tree skirt , in honor of your father? Tie backs for your curtains is another idea. Wouldn't they make a great vest, as I said before,if you made " fabric " out of them? I could go on & on, but I think this is enough to inspire you. How smart of you to grab these treasures.

1. Use them, as handles for purses, made from fabric pieces.
2. Sew them together,in order to create a piece of fabric, and than make a pillow or purse out of it.
3. Create a long belt,for jeans or long T-shirt.

Use them for bows on Christmas gifts or other gifts, use them as tie backs for curtains,or drapes, put fabric covers on diningroom chairbacks, and "tie" them,(as you would for wearing),leaving the longer part on the backside of the chair,as a clever decoration for a party.

you could stitch the nice ones together and create a keepsake pillow - not too big just like the size of a small toss pillow.

Weave them together to make something. A skirt, like that other answer said.

My late husband and I used to use them in bed! But I suppose a more practical use would be do cut them up and incorporate them in quilts, if you are so disposed.
