I mean, it's just not fair just because they are a different color.

Some people can't move past stereotypes or bad previous experiences and judge each person on their individual merits. Some people are opposed to hiring people of a different color, others have trouble hiring women for positions.

It's really a shame, and they could be losing out on someone with great skills by judging them on things that have no factor in the job.

I don't mean any thing racial by this but I worked at a company and was a supervisor, and I had white, black, and Hispanic,I had more trouble out of the black people, they didn't want to follow rules, they felt like they were being discriminated against because one girl made more money than the other and they were on production pay,I even had a black floor person and she was the one that said how sorry some of them were, yes i had problems out of all of them but the majority of the time it was the black, and always trying to pull the race , card, and I had no favorites i didn't play favorites, and i think that made them made because i was fair to everyone.so its not all black or white or Hispanic that are bad it just that one bad one in the bunch that spoils the whole bunch.

1) reputation for being lazy
2) reputation for being problems at works (coming late, fighting, fueding over men and so on)
3)clients-some clients don't want to do business with blacks adn thus a company really can't hire them.
4) track record-lets say I hired 100 blacks and six months later only 15 remain (most fired or quit). WHen I hired 100 Hispanics and 70 stay. I'm more prone to hire them than blacks
5)education-If the job requires college education, I might live in a city that lacks college educated blacks
6)appearance-I wouldn't hire someone that looked like criminal because my employees might feel uncomfortable around them.

A reputation of being lazy at work. I don't believe it but heard many stories from past work places. I've experienced a few but i think everyone is different so we shouldn't judge one for all and i think it's wrong. As a matter of fact, my buddy he's black and he works really hard since high school. The coolest black guy I'm friends with in high school. He gave me rides to and from school and had backed me up in many occasions. I think it's his family he was very well educated, well-mannered, and a very polite guy.
He dressed like one of those guy in Boyz II Men.

Of course.

But this also applies to other races besides blacks. Some people are just prejudiced.
