They do that every year - all 4 finalists go to fashion week, but only 3 collections are showed on TV. The reason is because if they only show 3 designers on fashion week, viewers will know who got eliminated before the show was aired.
Why they wouldn't push that show one week forward, is a good question...
To answer your original question - Yahoo revealed it because it's news. Yahoo is not obligated to keep secrecy, and you can find pictures of New York Fashion week all over the news.

The reason 4 people are going to fashion week is because no one knows just who will be the final 3 when fashion week came around. That episode hasn't aired yet and they want to keep the elilminated person a secret. One contestant will be eliminated next week. But in order to keep which one from being revealed early, all 4 had to do a fashion show. One of which will not be shown on TV.
