I absolutely will not listen to my voice in any form at all. Nor will I watch myself on recordings, pictures I can handle, but I hate the way I sound. I do not know what it is.

Good question! I was just interviewed on the tube and all I could think of was, "I don't think I'm that bad-looking, but I sure don't film well!" instead of what I said. We never see (or hear) ourselves the way others do.
I also practice in front of mirrors when I do presentations and it amazes me how embarrassed I can get in front of myself! I'm usually fine in front of the group, but just embarrass the hell out of myself in front of a mirror! Go figure.

because we see ourselves more than anyone else, and we are aware of all of imperfections, so when have a chance to actully see ourselve we seem to always focus on those imperfections, and not the good things.

Because sometimes in our minds we think we look better, and a picture brings reality and makes us realize we don't look as good! On the flip side, on a bad day, we may look better than we thought we did!
