note that alot of import cars have the rear muffler seactions bolt it so they would un bolt it bend a new pipe add the compression type fitting if needed and weld a new muffler in place on the new pipe. If you per say have an older vehicle and you want dual exhaust they will custom bend the size pipe you want weld on the ne mufflers and send you on your way $300 lighter

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. Different bikes require different methods.
-If it's clamped on, just remove it and install a slip on muffler.
-If it's welded on, the entire exhaust is replaced.

There are two types of aftermarket motorcycle exhausts - Full exhausts and Slip-on exhausts. Full system connects straight to the engine and replaces the stock header. Slip-on exhausts just replace the muffler.

This is a really bad idea.
A large part of the reason people dislike motorcycles is because of the noise. Loud exhausts hurt motorcycling. They cause anti-motorcycle prejudice, and anti-motorcycling restrictions.
Finally, it's selfish. For one persons pleasure a lot of other people get annoyed. That's just wrong.
Serious motorcycle rider for 40 years, own multiple bikes. Ride cross country and on race tracks. Stock exhausts on all my bikes.

Take off the stock one (through saw or disconnect it from the headers on back) and replace it with an aftermarket system.

most mufflers are welded in place, therefor they will remove yours. and weld a new one in its place. depending on your car it usually takes 20-30 min once you go on the lift.
