80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

You know this is actually a decent question. I feel that now, more than ever before, everyone is reaching out, touching, tasting, feeling,... seeking/searching. This meeting means that we should break down the barriers that separate us and learn to live in love. May the Hand of God be upon you. Peace.

Every voice represents something. That which is represented may have more or less meaning.
At some point in time, God places a call on everyones life; so that none may stand justified before Him. For some that call could be in a simple exchange that is made here.

I'm not sure if you mean what is the meaning for the questions we ask or not...
I believe that there is no real meaning. Every positive has a negative. Every negative has a positive. Nothing lasts forever, etc, etc, etc. We're just here. Maybe that's what we all come to realize: life is a rollercoaster, a strange adventure with no destination.

I understood the question perfectly, and feel it is a good one. For all the crap and filth on this sight there has also been a lot of heartwarming and or / intelligent answers that are thought provoking. We are reaching out, enlightening others. We can learn from others on questions(yahoo). It's a pretty cool thing that affects your life. (everything you do affects your life) .

This pluralistic exchange is like a window into the group consciousness. Those with minds wide open are watching and learning metaparadigm insights about humanity.

I look for people that I can help- particularly the ones with mental illness because I myself am bipolar. It makes me feel good to know that I've helped others and hopefully have made a positive difference.

This is an 'artificial environment' where people can share, show off their knowledge (or lack). Take my time . . . ? Sure! Time means NOTHING to me any more!
Oops! Sorry! I'm late!
