this car is a front wheel drive yes?? get a mechanic to check your CV joints, if the rubber boots are loose or torn dirt can get in and get stuck between the axle and hub, and it sounds like the water washed away(old grease doesn't take much) any lube and now it's plain metal on metal. plus 7yo means their on their way out!! if it happens when you turn then its the CV joints!! OR if its just the engine making noise its your lifters, check your oil and do an oil change. then sell it and buy a skyline!!

Check your oil level. It's probably low. The sound you're hearing is the lifters "ticking"

While you're checking the level, look at the oil on the dipstick to see if it's cloudy grey or milky. Look under the oil fill cap too. If you see that, then you've got water from the puddle mixed into your oil and that's no good. Have it towed to a shop and tell them.
Sometimes it's just a matter of oil change and watching it for a bit.

Sounds like you might have got some water in your crankcase. Get a QUALITY mechanic to come to your vehicle without you driving it and show them the sound. If you got water in your engine, you will not want to drive the car. Let the mechanic make the call.
