Naw, we 'white' are used to getting trashed on by now, you, since we're evil, oppressing taskmasters. I've noticed that asians typically take insults in stride, not being effected by idle words.
I notice from the poster above me, interestingly enough, derivitive comments about whites are not censored by Yahoo, but using the dreaded 'n' word is. curious...

I don't think it that it UPSETS different ethnic groups in that sense of the word. Every one is made fun of but the problem with ethnic stereotypes is that in many cases with ethnic groups such as Latinos, Asians, African-Americans etc, the stereotypes that are insulting are the ones that prohibit an expansion of opportunities.
Different cultural groups make fun of each other and there are some people who take it personally and others who don't. Whether a person is white, black, Native American, Indian etc. The problem comes when those stereotypes are implemented and cause harm by denying opportunites and fair treatment.
So it's not that 'every other race (which there's only one race--- the human race) beside white gets so offended at racial stereotypes". It's moreso that white people have various depictions of who they are so a little stereotype here or there doesn't hurt them as much as a group of people who don't have as many positive depictions of their ethnic group. That's where the problem comes from.
For instance, if a group of 30 white males get arrested for drugs and battery, no one stands up and screams that 'these white people are dangerous!' and that 'they need to stay in their place'.
But if a group of 15 black or Latino males get arrested, then it's a huge issue and causes racial tension because they are seen as MORE violent. Even though not nearly as many committed the crime.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone who is white, black, hispanic, asian, arab, persian, Indian......whatever race you are.....would let something like a stereotype make you angry. A stereotype is an over-generalized and preconceived idea or impression of what characterizes someone or something, especially one that does not allow for any individuality or variation.
People should be smarter than to let something such as a stereotype offend you. If your offended by racial stereotypes then you see some truth to that stereotype whether it applies to you or someone you know of the same race and then i can see it offending you. Otherwise - why else would anyone get so offended by something they didnt consider to be true for themselves?
I never get upset or anything over anything that is said regarding my race. You can say whatever you want to me and call me every bad name that you can think of for " a white person " and I am still not going to care at all!!
I dont like it whenever a white person makes an analogy regarding race or something that is really insignificant they are called a racist. That totally bothers me, and is a really poor, over-used, lame excuse to use to justify your anger or point in a case such as - Immigration and Illegal Immigrants in USA.
Your race has nothing to do with the fact that if you came into America Illegally, your an Illegal Immigrant. Period! Whether you came here Illegally from England, France, Mexico .........whereever ....your still illegal!! It just so happens that the majority of Illegal Immigrants in America happen to be Hispanic! It's the truth, dont use what the facts are as a way to get sympathy by crying racial discrimination.

Everybody hates Whites because they have had the power.
But every race has had, or will have its turn in power.
The Red peoples were dominant on Atlantis. And they made the
same mistakes the Whites made. Thinking they were better,
and wanting to rule the world. They had a gaint crystal they
used for war, and it backfired and that led to the slow downfall
of Atlantis. Ezekiel 1:22 KJV.
There is such a thing as group Krama. The Red peoples
in recent times have had to suffer for that. And Whites will
suffer too for thier abuse of power. We do reincarnate, come
back to this world. And what is getting ready to happen is
not the End of everything. It will only be a dramatic change
from things as we've known them.

I am white. I believe you have the right to say whatever you want. But what makes me angry is that when a white person says anything about another race, he's automatically labelled a racist. Other races, specifically blacks, can say anything about whites, and are almost encouraged to do so. White people are expected to just sit back and take it. It's wrong and it's a double standard.

I get just as hurt as any other race. Except I also know not to take it personally, but it's 2006, humans should NOT be insulting each other anymore. We had a few months in 69/70, but they're long gone.
(Man, that sounds Utopian - humans are no way near utopia, I know - sad to say.)
P.S.
I'm not a hippie either! lol.

The vast majority of people in this country and around the world are overly sensitive to several things, including race. If more people would just discount derogatory comments as inane or irrelevant, there would be a lot less fight, demonstrating and war.

If someone is going to call me a "cracker" or "honkey" or "redneck" - - Sure, I'm going to take offense to it. Why? because regardless of what anyone else's race is, I give them the respect they deserve until they prove to me that they're unworthy of it. I don't go around bad mouthing anyone - Why the heck can't they respect me?
I don't understand how it's all right for them to call eachother "n*gga", but when someone of a different race calls them that, they get defensive and play the race card. That doesn't mean that it's okay for white people to call someone a "n*gger", "c@mel j0ckey", or "sp*c" (the people who do this have no respect for themselves - It's like they were back in the first grade calling eachother names)
If someone is going to call me a redneck hillbilly, I don't take offense to that, because I know I'm definately not a redneck or hillbilly - so they're just trying to get under my skin because when it all comes down to it - it's about someone's race. On the other hand, if they called me a "b*tch", I wouldn't take offense to that because I know I can be one sometimes.
I think those who call "white" people offensive names are just trying to give those people who have slandered them a taste of their own medicine. The racial slurs need to stop - Nothing good comes of it.
Ever notice that Yahoo! Answers only filters the words that are offensive to non-whites? "Redneck", "Hillbilly", and "Honkey" are not. Seems that it's all right to have "Brown Pride" or "Black Pride" - If us "whites" had White Pride Day - We'd be "racist" and punished.

What are YOU talking about? Just because YOU don't take it personally doesn't mean OTHERS don't.
EDIT: If you see that people are getting mad, then that will prove to you that White people do get mad when they are stereotyped, Which is what you just did.
