Common sense is intelligence, and not different from it !
Yes peace of mind is possible only when we use common sense to act intelligently !

I think THAT is the question(s)! Intellect or common sense? or What gives you peace of mind or makes you happen in your life span?

These are the question(s) that everyone must answer. Do you want a family, a career, a carefree lifestyle, education, or physical challenges. You've got to find this for yourself.

This why we have body builders, ministers, moms & dads, club kids, teachers, etc. - It all depends on what YOU choose no matter what anyone else does.

As far myself, I am learning that I like to cook. Funny, cause I used to hate it and think it a waste of time - yet now I find it relaxing. My job is my job - nothing else. My strengths come in my friend and family relationships - so there is where most of my focus is at.

You have to try alot of things out to figure out so to speak, "What is You?" - because THAT is more important thatn intellect or common sense - because neither or both can bring you happiness if you aren't satisfied with yourself.

Would you mind rephrasing this question?

Additional information:
I get it. How far you get in life is determined by what you want out of it. Some jobs pay a lot of money for intelligence. Other people get peace of mind out of common sense. Knowing what you, where you stand and whether you can achieve your goals plays a big part in peace of mind.
In other words, life is a big rat race. Go for a little slice and chances are you will succeed. Bite off more than you can chew and you will likely choke on your own greed.

If your question is what makes people happy, there is no concrete answer. A poor man in the street may become depressed when he's given a few thousand to get himself a jump start. A millionaire may be extremely happy, even though he or she has lost his or her forture, but has found a long lost love. A cancer patient may have been wanting to die, and then become upset when they find out that they will truly live. Sometimes happiness is a wave that comes into our lives, just like sadness, and we cannot control how we feel, reguardless of the situation.

This question seems to be based on the assumption that intellect doesn't bring with it a large measure of common sense anyway...

I'd far rather have intellect (and all that goes with it) than 'common sense' alone. Then again, I DO have intellect, so I can't really imagine life without it, other than to know that I would be miserable.

I'm with the 1st lady but if your question is would i choose common sense or intellect ? then i would have to say common sense , i have meet many a person with high intelligence levels but lacking common sense and it is a sad thing exp. they cant deal well with family or dress or care for themselves but sense most people are of only average intelligence some one with a high common sense level could not only live a good life they could could seem intelligent to boot

True happiness, I believe, can not be attained until you've achieved enlightenment and actualization. Otherwise, you're still going to have those little curious thoughts of why and how and when, and you'll be chasing after answers again. And that is life. So I suppose I'd choose happiness, if that's what happiness is. And it is to me, so hell yeah!
