A furniture store in Houston has a promotion on. Buy at least $3000 worth of furniture and take receipt of it before the Colts-Texans game on Sunday...IF (and that's a big IF)...the Texans beat the Colts, your furniture is FREE. What are the odds of the Texans winning, and what do you reckon would be the loss for the furniture store owner?

It's not even 10 minutes into the game, and the Texans are down 14-0. They suck!

It is a bad sells pitch! And how does the person know it will actually be free, you know how there are underlying things that go on with promotions!
For the people who buy the furniture, I hope that the Texans win, the store owner should be out of his money for something this crazy!!

wow this could be a huge loss!!! or a HUGE gain!
I knew a store here that said buy your furniture, and on a day that they named weeks ahead, If the temp went below a certain degree all the furniture is free
a winter promotion obviously... made some money

Haha They are smart...all the texans fans will rush to buy. I don't really watch this, but I don't think you should fall for it. I HIGHLY doubt they'll win. If they do, the store owner would bankrupt. He has to be sure that it won't happen to make such a deal. :)

Well, I guess that is pretty weird okay. The most loss the dealer can make is probably 40 times $ 1,000 = $ 40K.
I doubt he will sell more than that over the weekend. So he is going to loose maybe $ 15K. Not to bad... If he charges it off to advertising expense, he is better off anyway.
