Three years ago Duane Chapman (Dog the Bounty Hunter) captured Max Factor heir and accused serial rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico. Mexican authorities demanded that the Chapman transfer Luster to Mexican police. Their refusal to do so led to their initial arrest. He posted bail but did not show up for his appointed court date. So he was arrested in Hawaii and will face an extradition hearing to Mexico.

No he did not kidnap anyone. The Heir to the MaxFactor Cosmetic fortune had raped and drugged three women in the states. A stateside and international warrant was issued and Dog, Leland, and Tim went to get him. They detained him to extradite the man back to the US to face trial.
Before extradition the man filled kinapping and wrongful detainment charges in Mexico. Dog and crew were arrested, posted bond, and returned to the US with the suspect.
Sadly Dog didn't return to Mexico to meet his court date, hence the US Marshals under pressure of the Mexican government issued a warrant for Dog and crew. Kind of ironic that Dog was arrested for the same thing he arrests people in Hawaii for.
I am a huge Dog fan. He and his family are amazing even if they are eclectic and weird but the bottom line is they change lives.

As a fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter, you may have heard his name in the
news recently and we wanted to fill you in on the details.
Dog, Leland and Tim Chapman were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals
early Thursday morning in connection with charges stemming from their
2003 arrest of convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster.
Andrew Luster, the famed heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune, was
convicted of drugging and raping three women over a four year span.
During his trial in 2003, Luster fled the country to Mexico.
In June 2003, Dog and his team tracked the fugitive Luster in Puerto
Vallarta, Mexico, where he was living under an alias, and arrested
him. As bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, Dog, Tim and Leland
were arrested by the Mexican authorities and Luster was handed over to
the United States government by the Mexicans. He was subsequently
found guilty and is currently serving a 124 year prison sentence.
Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, and Dog, Tim and Leland were
arrested by the Mexican authorities. After being released on bail,
Dog, his family and team, returned to Hawaii and to their lives as
bounty hunters.
Yesterday at 6:00am, U.S. Marshals stormed Dog’s home and took him
into custody. They then did the same to Leland and Tim. The three
are being held in Honolulu where they will face an extradition hearing
to Mexico. There will be a hearing in Hawaii today at 3:00pm local
time. At that point we will have more details to share with you.
As we have more news we will post it to www.aetv.com

Heres what I can piece together from AEtv.com and Msnbc.com. Aparently bounty hunting is illegal in mexico. Back in 2003 Dog Leland and Tim went down there and found Andrew Luster. Hes the guy that was heir to the Max Factor fortune. He drugged and raped 3 women. Anyway Dog and crew go get him. Mexico freaks out, arrests them and sends Luster back to the us. Aparently Dog and crew never went back to mexico for a court date (June 2003) So 3 years later Mexico sends a nice letter saying can you please send them back, And US marshalls bust down their doors and cuff them. Now they are saying Beth might be charged with contempt of court because she had microphones in the court room so it could be part of next seasons show. MSNBC.com has a phone interview with Beth

From what I understand he went there on a bounty after Andrew Luster (rapist) and when he caught Luster the Mexican police demanded that he hand Luster over to them so they could in turn give him to the U.S. When Dog refused they were arrested. Then when Dog and his team left Mexico, they never returned for their set court date there - which is I guess where this warrant/arrest stemmed from.

Nothing to do with race-had a court date in Mexico which they failed to keep so a warrant was signed for them that day by the presiding judge. Taken into custody by American police who sent to Mexico for US has a extradition agreement with Mexico-more than likely will get fined, hopefully. Just goes to show one should ignore court appearances no matter who one is or where it is.

Because he is an vigilante and not a real cop, so when he caught Andrew (slime) Luster in 2003, it was considered kidnapping because Mexico has a policy of not extraditing anyone, especially if they could get the death penalty.
So in their eyes he violated Andrew Lusters' rights. Do you believe it! I think that is insane, insane, insane! Mexico's policy is insane. It is like siding with the devil.
