there's no such thing as trilingual. if an individual knows two languages it's bilingual. if it's more than 2, it's multilingual. children normally learn the language of the land or country as they start learning to speak, even if the parents speak different languages. however, it's possible that the child may learn more of one language than the two others, because maybe of practice or exposure. so if you speak more english at home because hubby couldn't understand the other languages, the child will learn english and czech. it just depends on the child's exposure. and your hubby would just have to get a dictionary to learn the language.

just speak to him in russian, english, and the language in Czech. If you don't know how to speak the language in Czech, its okay, because all of you will eventually pick it up. I have a little sister. My mom speaks to her in Chinese, my dad and i speak to her in Bahasa Indonesia, and my sisters speak to her in English. so, she'll be a trilingual like your baby too =)

Use all the languages every day. Teach him words like hello and goodbye just like you would do in just English. As long as he is under 3 he should pick it up pretty easily. My daughter is mixed Mexican-American.

If your husband speaks english to him and you speak only russian it won't confuse him.Someone else should teach him Czech so that he won't get confused. Babies can learn up to 5 languauges, so you should be fine.

He won't get confused. I have many nieces and nephews who are trilingual, and do great! Good for you for giving him this opportunity! He'll have it forever!
