If you played 4 lines a week it would take you 75,000 years on average to win the lottery.
Why do we still play it?

Hope springs eternal, someone said...I guess we all dream of beating the system. And it seems cheap when you buy the ticket, as long as you don't stop and do the math over a year's time.

based on Diggers question, then the percentages of going 2 years without prevailing a tenner are particularly extreme. the prospect of prevailing £10 in a twelve months is form of a million/50 , so the prospect of no longer prevailing a tenner in a twelve months is 40 9/50. As you're taking part in 2 strains then the prospect of no longer prevailing a tenner over the two strains is (40 9/50)^2, and the prospect subsequently of no longer prevailing over 2 years is that squared back ie. (40 9/50)^4 = 0.922 apparently, you could desire to play 2 strains for fifty years and nevertheless have an more advantageous than a million in 10 probability of by no potential prevailing a tenner... merely is going to coach gamblings a mugs interest and that the lottery extremely is a taxation on the stupid...

several people have won it within a few weeks, £70,000,000.was won on Euromillions by an Irish lady who had only bought tickets for a few weeks......Plus there is no guarantee you'd win it after 75000 years unless you picked the right sequence of numbers.

You're so right! That means that when I do eventually win, it's only going to be worth about 10p. I'll be far too old to enjoy it, anyway.
